Adele has confirmed that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki, the chief executive officer of water charity Drop4Drop.
The 24 year old made the announcement via her official website. She said:
“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”
The London-born singer has enjoyed massive success since the release of her album 21. It became the biggest selling release of 2011 and sold more than 17 million copies worldwide. It’s obvious that she’s moved on since the heartbreak of an ex-boyfriend that she famously sang about in Someone Like You.
Fans will no doubt be wondering whether she’ll continue to make a much-anticipated follow up album, or whether she’ll now be focusing on motherhood.
