Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is fighting for his life following a lethal cocktail of drink and drugs.
Fielder-Civil was found choking in bed following the binge last Friday (3 August). He was then rushed to hospital in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, with multiple organ failure.
Winehouse’s former spouse is now on life-support and is said to be critically ill.
Sarah Aspin, Fielder-Civil’s partner and mother to his 15-month-old son, Jack, told The Sun:
“The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection. I’m praying he’ll survive, but I’m having to prepare myself that he may never wake up.”
“I am devastated, just devastated, at what has happened. I just want to cry all the time — but I have to be strong for our son Jack.”
Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch, took to Twitter today (9 August) to urge fans to pray for Fielder-Civil:

Winehouse and Fielder-Civil married in 2007, but their relationship was very turbulent and ended in divorce two years later.
Fielder-Civil has since been accused of introducing Winehouse to heroin, however, Mitch Winehouse recently told ABC that he does not blame him for his daughter’s death:
“I blame Blake for her drug addiction. He stood up and said ‘I switched Amy onto Class A drugs.’ But not for her death. He loved Amy. He would never, ever in a million years have wanted this for Amy.”
