Amy Winehouse, who tragically died in her London apartment last summer, didn’t have a will prepared prior to her death. It’s taken this long for her parents to finally inherit the late singer’s $4.66 million fortune (that’s just under £3 million).
The 27-year-old musician died with assets in excess of $6.7 million, but after debts and taxes the figure was shaved down to under $5 million. Interestingly, her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil won’t see a penny from the estate given their divorce in 2009 after a turbulent relationship and marriage that regularly landed them in the tabloids… and jail.
Amy’s Dad recently came under fire for appearing on the Channel 4 show ‘Four Rooms’ to sell one of Amy’s dresses, but he took to his Twitter account to defend the decision to appear on the show, given that the dress was donated by Amy prior to her death.
