Beyoncé silenced her critics last night (February 3) with an electrifying performance at the Super Bowl halftime show.
The 14-minute set – which comes days after Beyoncé admitted to miming at President Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony – featured explosive pyrotechnics, enthusiastic booty-shaking, not to mention a Destiny’s Child reunion.
The lights went out in New Orleans’ Superdome as Beyoncé descended to a dazzling a cappella rendition of ‘Love On Top‘.
The flawless 31-year-old then strutted down the stage to her breakthrough hit, ‘Crazy in Love‘, before launching into ‘End of Time‘ and ‘Baby Boy‘, which came accompanied by a spectacular screen projection starring numerous Beyoncé clones.
The Internet went into meltdown midway into the show, when Beyoncé’s former band mates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, quite literally sprang up from beneath the stage to the ring of Destiny’s Child’s ‘Bootylicious‘.
A moving rendition of ‘Halo‘ then closed what many are hailing as “the greatest” halftime show of all time.
“Thank you for this moment”, said Beyoncé before leaving the stage. “God bless y’all“.
And God bless you, Bey.
