Chris Brown Chris Brown denies new tattoo is beaten Rihanna

Chris “Asshole” Brown has denied that his new tattoo represents the bruised face of his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.

Brown unveiled the sinister neck tattoo – which appears to show a woman with a black eye and stitches – earlier this week.

Fans were quick to note that the ink bared a striking resemblance to a photo of a beaten Rihanna which leaked online in 2009, soon after Brown had assaulted her.

A representative has since jumped to the defense of Brown, however, claiming the tattoo is in fact a Mexican piece, inspired by the Day of the Dead, and, uh, MAC cosmetics:

“His tattoo is a sugar skull (associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead) and a MAC cosmetics design he saw. It is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported.”

Sure, whatever…

Meanwhile, Brown and Rihanna were caught embracing at the MTV VMA Awards last Thursday (September 6), suggesting the former couple remain close.

During a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna admitted she still had strong feelings for Brown:

“I think he is the love of my life. He was my first love. Now we’re very close friends. And that’s not anything we’re going to try to change.”
