Courtney Love Courtney Love to Lana Del Rey: You were singing about my vagina.

Wow. I never thought I would write that headline!

The ever-classy Courtney Love has hit out at Lana Del Rey after she covered Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box“ in Australia last week (July 26).

Love took to Twitter to inform Del Rey that Nirvana front man, Kurt Cobain, wrote the song about his wife’s, um, vagina.

In tweets that have since been deleted (no surprise there), Love told Del Rey:

“You do know the song is about my vagina right? ‘Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back’ umm.”

Love was keen to add that she helped Cobain pen said ode to her nether regions:

“On top of which some of the lyrics about my vagina I contributed.”

Finally, Love summed up her rant to Del Rey:

“So umm next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you? Lol.”

Shudder. That’s enough to put ANYONE off covering the song!

Del Rey previously spoke to Sirius FM about the influence “Heart Shaped Box” had on her as a little girl:

“When I was 11, I saw Kurt Cobain singing ‘Heart Shaped Box’ on MTV and it really stopped me dead in my tracks. I thought he was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. Even at a young age, I really related to his sadness.”

Music lover of all genres, especially Grime. Often tuned into Rinse FM, but quite happy listening to anything from Nine Inch Nails to Girls Aloud to John Williams.
