This afternoon (May 20), Liam Gallagher and co have unveiled the video for the next single to be lifted from the new album, .

The promotional clip sees Beady Eye performing their irrelevant breed of, you got it, inspired psychedelic rock, beneath revolving, kaleidoscopic lighting.

‘BE’, which was, for some odd reason, produced by the illustrious Dave Sitek, of TV On The Radio fame, is due to be released on June 10.

During a recent interview with Gallagher commented that Sitek was the best producer that he has “ever worked with”. The former Oasis front man also told the magazine that ‘BE’ will contain “none of that crap from the 90′s”:

“Working with Sitek just opened something up in us. He’s without a doubt the best producer I’ve ever worked with, a real outlaw, he doesn’t give a fuck, no rules.”

“We had a new found focus when we were writing it, we really got our heads down and got our shit together, clear heads, none of that crap from the 90′s. It feels like a really special record for us.”

Which is all well and good, Liam, but, I strongly doubt that ‘BE’ will scoop you the any time soon.

George Michael was airlifted to hospital on Thursday night with a head injury after being involved in a car accident. A spokesman for the singer confirmed that he had been the passenger in a Range Rover, and no other vehicles had been involved.

The reported that a police spokesperson had said:

“The exact circumstances of what happened are unclear at this time and until further investigations have been carried out it would be inappropriate for us to comment further.”

The northbound carriageway of the M1 was closed for an hour while emergency services staff attended the scene.

Back in September 2010, Michael was given an eight-week prison sentence for crashing his Range Rover while under the influence of cannabis, and was fined £1,250.

Kanye West has never exactly been renowned for understatement. So it’s not that much of a surprise that instead of premiering his new song, via a radio station or YouTube, the megalomaniac decided to unveil it by projecting a super-sized video clip onto 66 buildings across the globe.

The US rapper posted news about the publicity stunt on Twitter just hours before it first took place on the corner of 14th Street and 10th Avenue in New York’s Meatpacking District late last night.

Over 100 fans then flocked to watch the stark black-and-white clip of their idol, which was accompanied by the first taster from his upcoming sixth studio effort.

It’s not yet clear whether ‘New Slaves’ is the lead single. But if it is, then it’s the most uncompromising and uncommercial of his career thanks to its harsh tribal beats, doom-laden synths and reflections on materialism and racial stereotypes:

“My mama was raised in the era when/ Clean water was only served to the fairer skin/ Threw on clothes, you would’ve thought I had help/ But they wasn’t satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself.”

The 35-year-old also posted a map on his detailing the viewing times and locations, including London, Paris and Sydney, that the promo will be also be played at this weekend.

Organisers of the ever popular Bestival, which takes place every year at the tail-end of the summertime, have announced that their Friday night headliner this year will be none other than original superstar DJ Fatboy Slim (AKA Norman Cook).

In a rather neat move planned to coincide with Bestival’s ten-year anniversary, festival-goers will be treated to a night of moshing from the man who was one of the very first headliners at the inaugural event back in 2004. The DJ is calling his exclusive set ‘Fatboy Slim’s Bestival Birthday Bash’, and promises outrageous onstage antics along with a few special surprises to be revealed on the night itself.

As usual, quality certainly doesn’t dip through the rest of the line-up, which in 2013 includes headline sets from Elton John and Snoop Lion as well as appearances from M.I.A., Franz Ferdinand, The Flaming Lips, The Knife, Wu-Tang Clan, Annie Mac Presents and many more. The festival also boasts a colourful line-up of comedy, cabaret and general theatrical shenanigans.

Noel Gallagher was at the Ivor Novello awards yesterday to pick up his accolade for Outstanding Song Collection, and he didn’t hesitate to give his views on the pop music scene. Explaining exactly why he thinks the Ivor Novellos are so special, the Oasis star and singer said:

“You don’t get clowns like One Direction here, because it’s not about what clothes you wear, who you’re shagging, how nimble you are on stage. It’s actually about the nuts and bolts of it, it’s about writing songs… it’s the songs that last forever.”

Though everyone’s favourite boy band didn’t get a look in when it came to the awards, we’d guess that they aren’t losing too much sleep over it. Just yesterday, they announced a world stadium tour for 2014, and fans went into a frenzy about when they’d be able to buy tickets.

Will One Direction fight back, or will they have more sense than to mess with one of rock and roll’s most famous figures?

“I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic!”

The film will hit screens in the UK on July 31 but as of yet, there is no official release date for ‘Ooh La La.’

When it comes to songwriting and musical integrity, The Ivor Novellos are the ones that count, the awards that every serious songwriter worth their salt wants on the mantelpiece. Basically, the Ivors are to the Brits what Veuve Cliquot is to Mountain Dew.

The 58th Ivor Novello Awards have just taken place at Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane, and the country’s top songwriters were out in force to receive their accolades. The Maccabees opened up proceedings by receiving the Best Contemporary Song Award for ‘Pelican’, and Emeli Sandé snatched the gong for Best Song (Musically and Lyrically) for her single ‘Next To Me’.

The veterans had their time in the sun too, with Marc Almond receiving The Ivors Inspiration Award and Noel Gallagher picking up the Outstanding Song collection Award (and commenting afterwards, in his inimitable style, “I come to the Ivor Novellos because One Direction aren’t invited”).

One Direction have confirmed that they are to embark on their first ever world stadium tour next year.

The boyband have been whipping their Directioners up into an absolute frenzy over the past week, teasing them with both the website.

This afternoon (May 16), Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson held a press conference at Wembley Stadium in London, in order to announce the world tour, titled ‘Where We Are’ (move over, ).

The stadium tour will kick off in South America in April, before returning to the UK and Ireland in May and June.

One Direction will play Croke Park in Dublin on May 24, Stadium Of Light in Sunderland on May 28, Eithad Stadium in Manchester on May 31, Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on June 3 and Wembley Stadium in London on June 7.

Tickets for the UK and Ireland dates will go on sale on May 25 at 10am. The band also confirmed that further international dates are due to be announced later this year. All in all, then, not bad going for a bunch of ‘The X Factor’ contestants.

Fans of The Beatles have been blaming John Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, for the split of the band for over 40 years, but Paul McCartney has finally spoken out and said that it wasn’t her fault.

In an interview with Sir David Frost that is due to be broadcast next month, he said:

“She certainly didn’t break the group up. I don’t think you can blame her for anything. John Lennon was definitely going to leave.”

The rockers formed in Liverpool in 1960 and created their place in musical history as ‘Beatlemania’ swept the world for the next ten years. They split in 1970, and all members went on to have successful music careers in their own right. Sadly, Lennon was shot and killed in 1980.

During their heyday, they had more number-one albums in the British charts and sold more singles in the UK than any other act. Though four decades have passed since they stopped recording, they remain one of the most highly regarded bands in history.

It has recently been announced that their second feature film, ‘Help!’, which was first released in 1965, will be re-released in the US next month with an hour of extra new features.

You don’t exactly expect much soul-searching from a Kelly Rowland song.

Her debut solo single, might have dealt with teenage suicide and school shootings. But since then she’s seemed perfectly content releasing suggestive R&B and ‘fun in the club’ dance-pop that has about as much depth as a puddle.

So it’s a surprise to hear her so confessional on not only addresses an abusive relationship she was once in:

“I was battered/He hitting the window like it was me, until it shattered/He pulled me out and said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me/Not your mama, not your daddy, and especially not Bey.”

But it also focuses on her relationship with Beyoncé and in particular the jealousy she felt at watching her former Destiny’s Child bandmate become one of the superstars of her generation:

Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin’ it/Bittersweet she was up, I was down/No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?”

The 32-year-old recently told about how difficult it was to lay down the track:

“It was very emotional. It took me days to record. I had to get past being so upset and actually sing the song, not sob through it. I always hope that my music can inspire someone, the same way other artists inspire me.”

The sparse piano-led slow-jam isn’t exactly the most immediate release of her career. But it’s an encouraging move which once again suggests that the world of R&B is finally starting to get its act together.

Beyoncé has penned a handwritten apology to fans after she cancelled a scheduled concert in Belgium last night. She was due to take to the stage as part of her Mrs Carter Show World Tour, though was forced to pull out at the last minute due to ‘exhaustion and dehydration’.

She posted the note on her official Facebook page, and said:

“To my dearest fans in Antwerp. I’ve never postponed a show in my life. It was very hard for me. I promise I will make it up very soon. I’m sorry if I disappointed you. Thank you for your concern. I’m feeling much better now, and I’m ready to give you a great show. See you tonight. All my love, Beyoncé.” 

Of course, the cancellation has heightened speculation that the reported that she’s expecting Jay-Z’s second child, though the couple are yet to confirm or deny the rumours.

So far, Beyoncé’s tour has included countries such as Serbia, France, and England. It’s due to come to an end in September in Brazil.

The Scottish singer is set to rake in millions of pounds from the proposed deal, which would see her following in the footsteps of Celine Dion, Sir Elton John and the planned ‘will-she-won’t-she’ residency of Britney Spears. It would also land her back in familiar environs, as she played Las Vegas’s Flamingo Hotel last year alongside her idol Donny Osmond.

A source close to Susan Boyle told The Mirror newspaper:

“Las Vegas is one of the ultimate spots for a performer to play and a residency is a huge deal, but then Susan is a big star who’s sold more than 19 million albums.”

It’s easy to mock poor old Subo, of course, but whatever you think of her music, the unlikely 52 year-old popstar should be applauded for remaining almost comically grounded during her meteoric rise to fame. Despite having amassed a personal fortune of £22 million since reaching the finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, Susan still lives in her family home in West Lothian and actively shuns the luxury lifestyle she could so readily afford. And as for her gig rider, well, this is actually kinda sweet – there’s only one thing on there.

The lyric video which accompanies ‘The Race’ today (May 15), features breathtaking footage of wild animals, including a leopard and a zebra, in their natural habitats.

‘The Race’ is the fourth song to be lifted from ‘LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS’, 30 Second to Mars’ fourth studio album, which is due to be released on May 21.

Front man, Jared Leto, told that the song is “about the madness of love, life, the insanity of dreams, and about how, at times, prey can become the predator,” apparently.

Just weeks after Little Mix somehow managed to secure the talents of Missy Elliott for another British pop outfit has also decided to forge an unlikely partnership with a US hip-hop star.

This time round it’s Lawson, who appeared to have taken over from McFly as the pop-rock boyband of choice over the last year, hooking up with B.o.B for their new single,

Of course, the California rapper is no stranger to the pop world having previously collaborated with the likes of Jessie J ().

And his laid-back delivery fits in rather effortlessly amongst the band’s radio-friendly guitar-led sound here on a track which bears more than a resemblance to Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa’s chart-topper,

Frontman Andy Brown told earlier this week that he’s extremely proud of the song:

“Brokenhearted is definitely a bit of a turning point for us as a band. It’s my favourite song we have recorded to date. It was a dream to get B.o.B on the track. The whole band are huge fans of his.

“He really took the song to the next level and we had a great time shooting the video with him.”

Brokenhearted will be released on July 7th and is taken from the re-release of Lawson’s debut album,

That’s right, glam-metal band Kiss – the Starbucks of rock ‘n’ roll – are in the process of once again proving themselves to be all about the music by… erm… opening their own chain of restaurants across America.

The third branch of Rock & Brews was recently opened in Los Angeles, but Kiss won’t be stopping there – their ultimate aim is to one day have a hundred-strong empire stretching right across the United States. Frontman Paul Stanley told the Hollywood Reporter:

“We are spreading our tentacles! It’s a family friendly place where you don’t have to compromise your palate. Most of the time when you bring your kids to a restaurant, you are eating cardboard pizza or dried out macaroni and cheese. This is really your place where you can hang out, choose from one of our 80 craft beers, hear quality rock music and have a great night with your friends.”

During the coming twelve months, further branches are planned for LAX airport, Maui in Hawaii and Kansas City, Missouri. None of which is that surprising given that last year Kiss opened their own mini-golf course in Las Vegas, along with an arcade, party rooms and a wedding chapel. And while some might criticise the band for their corporate approach (can anyone actually remember more than two or three lines from any Kiss song?!), at the very least you can’t fault the rockers’ conviction.

So what’ll be on the menu at Casa Del Kiss, I wonder? Guitaramasalata? Macarock ‘n’ cheese…?

Olly Murs tones his “fun loving” personality down a few notches in the emotionally charged new video for .

‘The X Factor’ finalist sits alone in his apartment writing a letter to his ex-girlfriend, all the while he reflects upon their “short” and “sweet” time spent together.

Murs then attempts to win his girl back through a series of romantic, if not creepy, gestures, including ordering her a heart-shaped coffee and surprising her with passionate, uh, graffiti.

The promotional clip, which the 28-year-old described as “sad, lonely and dark” in a recent , concludes with the ex-girlfriend responding with a letter of her very own.

‘Dear Darlin’ was written by Murs, Ed Drewett and Jim Eliot, and is lifted from the Essex singer’s third studio album, .

She may have been hailed as the Queen of Dubstep on her arrival in 2010, but Katy B now appears to be ditching the bass wobbles judging by her new material.

Indeed, premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show last night, the track has much in common with the house music revival currently being spearheaded by the likes of Disclosure, Hot Natured and Duke Dumont.

It all bodes well for the as-yet-untitled follow-up to her Mercury Prize-nominated debut which peaked at No.2 in the UK back in 2011.

Katy B, who has confirmed that her new LP will feature collaborations with Fraser T. Smith (Adele), Diplo and her regular producer, Geeneus, recently told about the inspiration for the record:

“Where I am in my life at the moment, and with my age group as well, I think reality has kind of kicked in. When I was 18 or 21, it was very much a feeling of freedom. ‘I’m free to be exactly who I am. And my parents aren’t telling me what time to come home at night!’

And I think this album is more focused on love and relationships and reality as well… having to think that you have to go throughout life, [and] sometimes you don’t realize you have to fight for your happiness.”

It has been announced that Professor Green will head up the musical acts taking to the stage at the upcoming UCFC-Keepmoat Stadium fight show.

An official UCFC spokesman said:

“We are delighted to announce Professor Green is coming to headline the UCFC-Keepmoat Stadium Legends of MMA event. The event already has some of the world’s top fighters appearing and, combined with top class music acts such as The Sunshine Underground and Jay Mya, will be an event to remember. This is a totally new concept. Not only will the UCFC have some of the top fight talent in the UK on its card, it will also have premier music talent care of our partners Base Africa, one of the foremost music promoters. Our plan is to bring something completely different to the fight scene, all done in on epic scale. This is why we will feature some of the best fight talent in Great Britain and abroad.”

In case you aren’t up to date on your fighting news (no, neither were we), the event is a bit of a big deal. It showcases some of the world’s best MMA fighters and is a much anticipated event in fans’ calendars.

Professor Green’s been busy of late, so it’s a wonder that he can possibly fit anything more into his hectic schedule. The rapper is planning his wedding with Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, and is said to be hard at work on his new album.

The event will take place on the 27th of July and tickets are now on sale.

This haunting number represents Lana Del Rey’s contribution to The Great Gatsby album, a movie soundtrack masterminded by Jay-Z and featuring a host of top artists across multiple genres.

The beautifully-orchestrated sits alongside tracks from The xx, Florence  + the Machine, Beyoncé, Jack White and Gotye on a contemporary and eclectic album put together to underscore Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel The Great Gatsby. Speaking about her involvement with the project, Del Rey said:

“It was an honour to work with Baz Luhrmann on his amazing adaptation of one of the most extraordinary books ever written.”
