Gary Barlow Gary Barlow and wife Dawn mourn stillborn daughter, Poppy

Take That’s Gary Barlow has announced his daughter, Poppy, was delivered stillborn on Saturday (4 August).

Barlow and his wife of 12 years, Dawn Andrews, broke the tragic news last night (6 August):

“Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we’ve lost our baby. Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4th in London.”

The statement continued:

“Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We’d ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected.”

Gary and Dawn have three children, Daniel (12), Emily (10) and Daisy (3).

Barlow’s spokesperson said it was “too early” to comment on whether he would still be performing at the Olympics’ closing ceremony on Sunday (12 August).

The news comes just two weeks after Take That band mate Mark Owen’s wife, Emma Ferguson, gave birth to their third child, Fox India.

Another Take That member, Robbie Williams, is also expecting a baby girl with wife, Ayda Field.

Last night, celebrities flocked to Twitter to issue their condolences, including Tulisa ContostavlosAmanda Holden and Andrew Lloyd-Webber, who collaborated with Barlow on the official Diamond Jubilee song, “Sing”:
