Oh my gosh! A countdown has just launched on Girls Aloud’s official website!
The clock is ticking down ten days, to October 19, suggesting a comeback announcement is imminent!
The countdown is headed with the caption, “TEN,” adding a proper mystery to it all, like.
Rumours are currently circulating that the band will reunite on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, which airs on the date the clock is counting down to. Girls Aloud’s most forgettable member, Kimberly Walsh, is currently a contestant on said show.
Speculation of a comeback was fuelled on Sunday (October 7), when Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle were pictured hanging out at Cheryl Cole’s show at London’s 02 Arena. As for Sarah Harding, she was too busy recording solo material to attend. Whatev!
Last week, The Mirror also reported that Girls Aloud – who went on hiatus in 2009 – recently filmed a new music video:
“The girls recorded tracks with their long-time collaborators Xenomania as early as May this year. Some of them recorded their vocals separately, so they didn’t actually see each other that much during the process. Obviously, Nadine has been pretty estranged from the group during their time off, too. But on Tuesday, all five were together to film the video for their big return song, which is due out next month.”
We are so excited, we could wet ourselves!
In celebration of today’s news, let us get nostalgic with “Sound of the Underground.” N’aw, look at their baby faces, crooked teeth and poor fashion taste…
