The Voice Jessie J quits The Voice

Jessie J will not be returning as mentor on the second series of The Voice.

The “Domino” singer has reportedly quit as her upcoming UK tour clashes with the filming dates for the BBC talent series.

But what that really translates to is: The Voice was a complete and utter ratings flop and Jessie J wants OUT!

Not that the show’s producers will mind, with one insider telling The Mirror that Jessie was a right diva behind the scenes:

“Jessie J is only young. I hope in a few years she looks back on the way she behaved during the show and cringes.”

Sir Tom Jones is also uncertain about returning to The Voice, even though he won the last series with his contestant, Leanne Mitchell (who we haven’t heard of since).

The “Sex Bomb,” ahem, told Rob Brydon’s new chat show:

“I think I will do another series. We are talking about it now. But there are a couple of things that need to be ironed out.”

Jones continued:

“One of the things I said I need to know is who the other coaches are, because I don’t want to be sitting there with somebody that I don’t admire or particularly like…there are a few of them!”

Today, a BBC spokesperson said that talks with the mentors were “ongoing,” though it is understood will.i.am and that bloke from The Script, Danny O’Donoghue, are both set to return to the show.

Jess is a UK-based writer. Her articles were initially published by local newspapers and zines; she now writes reviews and features for a wide range of international, award winning art publications.
