Katy Perry Katy Perry rules out heartbreak album after Russell Brand split

Katy Perry wants you to know her next album will not be banging on about her divorce from Russell Brand, k?

It seems ‘doing an Adele’ is not in Perry’s style. Speaking to The Sun, the “California Gurl” said:

“I’d never devote a whole record to heartbreak. I’m happy, I’m in a good place, I’m looking forward to my future.”

Perry is currently busy promoting her film, Part of Me 3D, which takes fans behind the scenes of her California Dreams world tour.

The film also captures Perry in the midst of her divorce from Brand. In one scene, the singer is seen sobbing beneath a blanket shortly before she is due to go on stage in Brazil. Perry said of the ‘grab your tissues’ moment:

“That’s towards the end of the tour and I am obviously exhausted and things aren’t going well for me personally. I am trying to keep that to myself and it started cracking through. It is a bit of a symbolic moment, rising above that pain on that lift, and sometimes I had to turn it on. I turned on my spinning outfits and my spinning peppermints.”

Perry added she was adamant Part of Me 3D did not shy away from her split from Brand:

“For me it was important with this movie not to ignore that elephant in the room. I am not hiding anything, but I had to put it in with integrity and consideration because that’s how I make all my choices, because I believe in karma.”

During the juicy tabloid interview, Perry also hinted that Brand made her choose between her career and her relationship, prompting the pair’s divorce in December:

“Last year, in my relationship, it’s like I didn’t want to change. I wanted to stay as a performer who has so much love for my fans, and I don’t want to ever think I would have to choose between them.”

Ooh, we do love a good bitch…
