Last week, LyricStatus broke the news that Girls Aloud would be reuniting after three years apart. And today, we are super excited to bring you the band’s brand new comeback single, “Something New.”
The epic dance-pop song – which has leaked online four days ahead of its official premier – is Girls Aloud’s first single since “Untouchable” in 2009.
And with lyrics like “We’re the leaders of the pack/Tell me can you handle that,” it certainly seems the girls are revved up for their return! So watch out, The Saturdays!
“Something New” is rumoured to be one of several new songs recorded as part of a forthcoming greatest hits collection, TEN. But don’t expect much more from Girls Aloud after that, at least if Cheryl Cole’s autobiography, Cheryl: My Story, is to be believed:
“We’ll be working on a tour and greatest hits album. Then I think that’s it for Girls Aloud. We’ve achieved more than any of us ever dared to dream of.”
Music fans are already taking to Twitter to react to the new single. Opinions are split, with some loving the track:
