The world of pop was left reeling last night with the devastating news that bushy-haired crotch-gyrating duo LMFAO have decided to call it a day.
Yes the men responsible for the immortal lines, “I got passion in my pants and I ain’t afraid to show it,” have revealed they are going their separate ways after a quite frankly unfathomable last 12 months which has seen them score a worldwide number one with ‘Party Rock Anthem,’ offend everybody’s eyes with the video for ‘Sexy & I Know It‘ and join Madonna on stage for her Super Bowl half-time show.
Incredibly, for an act who showed little sign of any kind of love, knowledge, or respect for music during their thankfully brief chart-conquering career, the nephew/uncle pair have cited the age old excuse of ‘musical differences’ for their split, with singer/producer RedFoo telling news.com.au:
“I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years.
“And we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.
“I think that we naturally just started hanging with two different sets of people, two different crowds, but we’re always family. He’ll always be my nephew, I’ll always be his uncle.”
Guess Tom Daley and his diving team-mates will have to find another slice of brainless trash-pop to lip-sync along to in the future.
