Nicki Minaj well and truly lived up to her ‘diva’ status at T In The Park!
The “Starships” singer has been slammed by the folk artist, Frank Turner, for reportedly mistreating the crew who were working backstage at the Scottish music festival on Sunday (July 8).
Turner took to Twitter to vent his anger after he apparently witnessed a security guard shove a crew member into the mud, simply so Queen Minaj could stroll past without disturbance:
To clarify: Nicky Minaj has been being a total selfish shithead to all the hardworking crew backstage at T. Pathetic. Fuck off.

Today (July 9), Turner elaborated on what we are officially deeming ‘Nicki-gate’ over at his blog:
“There are an awful lot of people who work on making shows and festivals happen who don’t get to stand in the middle of the stage and bask in anyone’s adulation. These people all work their arses off, they’re there from first thing in the morning to last thing at night, and they don’t get paid as much as the musicians on the stage. If there’s one person in the midst of this who has a pretty easy, highly paid job (show up, mime, go home) who refuses to do this, and thereby fucks up the day of all the hard-working, sleep-deprived, exhausted, under-appreciated festival crew, well, that pisses me off.”
But it is not just Turner who Minaj managed to piss off at T In The Park. The ‘Harajuku Barbie’ also angered fans after she was 50 minutes late to the festival stage. Minaj was then booed throughout her set, the majority of which was clearly mimed. One disappointed ‘Barb’ said of the performance:
“We were buzzing for the gig and it turned out to be a total joke. Disaster doesn’t even describe it.”
