It’s not exactly been a well-kept secret but the original Sugababes line-up have now officially announced that they are recording new material together.

Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy have regularly posted less-than-subtle hints about their reunion on Twitter, but finally confirmed today on the same social networking site that they are teaming up again for a belated follow-up to 2000 debut, ‘One Touch.’

The girls also uploaded their first official photo as a reformed trio, and as reported in the press earlier this week, revealed they will now go under the name of Mutya Keisha Siobhan. Let’s hope that their music is more imaginative!

Sugababes became famous for their constant line-up changes, with Donaghy quitting in 2001 amid rumours that she was being bullied by her bandmates, Buena leaving in 2005 to spend time with her family and Buchanan departing in 2009 after being ousted by their management team.

However, despite her fearsome reputation, Keisha told Popjustice that there won’t be any repeat of their previous revolving door policy:

“There will be no overworking people to the point where they’re depressed. There’s none of that stuff. We all have the same intentions. You need that. I’ve always wanted to be part of something where I genuinely felt sisterhood, and I feel like I’ve definitely found that now.”

If they could arrange to release their comeback single around the same time as the Sugababes Version 4.0’s (Heidi, Jade, Amelle), then we could be looking at one of the bitchiest chart battles of all time. Bring it on!
