“Gangnam Style” genius, Psy, was told to get plastic surgery by his record company. Madness!
His label was so convinced that the K-Pop star did not have the face for success, that they also suggested that he wear a mask on stage!
Psy told The Sun that his agents were alarmingly eager to alter his looks:
“The agency heard my raps and were picturing a 6ft tall, sharp-looking, trendy guy. But the CEO opened our meeting with the statement, ‘What are we going to do with this?’”
“Staff said, ‘How about we make him wear a cool mask?’ Everyone was coming up with solutions to my ‘looks’ problem. They said, ‘How about a bit of plastic surgery here and there?’”
“In the end they reached no conclusions and just walked out of the room.”
Thank goodness, Psy defied his critics, and has since gone on to become a worldwide phenomenon.
On Sunday (September 30), he became the first ever South Korean star to reach the #1 spot in the UK with the viral smash, “Gangnam Style,” the video for which has been watched over 350 million times on YouTube. Yikes!
Meanwhile, the shuffling singer has revealed that he, ahem, “dances” so much during his crazy three hour concerts, that he has developed a severe blood clot in his leg!
Psy told The Sun that he has to have 40 acupuncture needles poked into his legs midway into his shows, just so he can make it through to the end.
Now that’s what we call dedication!
“Op op op op! Oppa Gangnam Style!”
