Well well well. Maybe Simon Cowell is not such a douche after all!
According to The Daily Star, the music mogul rescued nine seafarers who were stuck on a sinking ship in St Tropez yesterday (August 29).
Cowell was sunbathing (I know, not a pretty image) on his private yacht with his ex-girlfriend, Sinitta, when he overheard the emergency call. The X Factor boss then turned action hero, rushing to the rescue of the ship in distress.
Cowell reportedly steered his yacht close to the sinking ship, before sending out a smaller boat (boat inception) to rescue the nine stranded passengers.
Meanwhile, Sinitta was busy tweeting the whole bloody thing:

The singer soon reassured her followers that everyone was safe:
Everyone ok, noone hurt.captain won’t let boat sink, petrol in sea etc would cause major problems and fines. No tide, so hole plugged

A source close to Cowell said of the maritime drama:
“He only did what any good person would do. If his yacht was in trouble he would want someone to come to his rescue. It was just lucky they happened to be close by.”
“When the call came through no-one knew exactly how serious it was so everyone stopped what they were doing and went to help. Thankfully, everyone was OK and Simon’s team got there in time.”
