The Script & will.i.am debut video for ‘Hall Of Fame’

Perhaps the only positive thing to come out of the disaster that was The Voice was that despite torturing us with a string of lazy god-awful singles (most notably ‘The Time,‘ shudder!) over the last decade, will.i.am appears to be an all round good egg.

So it’s no surprise that his chair-spinning colleague Danny O’Donoghue has dragged himself away from banging on about ‘real music’ long enough to join forces with the surprisingly camp Black Eyed Peas frontman on the band’s new single, ‘Hall Of Fame.’

Released today, the video shows the two unlikely bosom buddies pulling their best over-earnest faces whilst performing the track in an isolated warehouse. Continuing the song’s motivational theme, the promo also features some ever-so-inspiring shots of a boxer training for and winning a title fight, and a ballerina rehearsing and passing a dance audition.

Proving that the gigantic BBC flop has been far more beneficial to its judges than its contestants (will we ever hear of Leanne whatshername again?), the track appears destined for the number one slot when it’s released on September 2, but its lyrics (“standing in the hall of fame/and the world’s gonna know your name/cause you burn with the brightest flame”) suggest they might have been better releasing it at the height of Olympic fever.

However, when it comes to The Voice judge collaborations, it’s not a patch on ‘Moves Like Jagger.’
