Wiley’s well-known for rubbing up fellow MCs the wrong way, but it seems he’s also capable of demonstrating he can reconcile and play nicely as he invites Chipmunk to feature on his latest single ‘Reload’.

The video for ‘Reload’ dropped today and features Chipmunk (now re-branded to Chip since his stint in America) and serial collaborator of late, Ms D, who provided vocals on both of Wiley’s previous hits ‘Can You Hear Me? (Ayayaya)’ and ‘Heatwave’.

Despite Wiley originally helping a teenage Chipmunk break into the Grime scene, the two fell out after Chip’s rapid rise to success in 2009 with not-so-grimey singles ‘Diamond Rings’ and ‘Chip Diddy Chip’. Wiley, who himself had a number 1 in 2008 with ‘Wearing My Rolex’, was quoted by the Daily Star as saying:

“If we’d all stayed together we could have seen a bit more power. Hip-hop and drum and bass acts stay together more.”

And it was all downhill from there. The two then took to Twitter to air out some micro-aggressions, such as:

Chipmunk;

Music lover of all genres, especially Grime. Often tuned into Rinse FM, but quite happy listening to anything from Nine Inch Nails to Girls Aloud to John Williams.
